LASCO Activity Report for
February 22, 2002 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
None today.
2002/02/21
03:06 UT N West Very narrow bright blob-like ejection, possible
dense region at top of narrow loops. Quite slow
05:30 UT N West Fairly wide bright asymmetric loop front. S edge
obscures previous event, maybe accelerates. Some
continued outflow epecially in S
06:54 UT S West Moderately wide loop front with cavity
12:54 UT N West Ragged loop front with cavity and core, some
continued outflow, M3.9 flare in AR 9825 peaks
in EIT at 12:24
12:54 UT S East Somewhat narrower loop front with significantly
less trailing material. Faster than NW event,
narrow CME in EIT peaks in absorption at 12:36
from new AR
19:31 UT S East Fairly bright spray
21:30 UT W Limb Bright narrow front later resolves to faint front
followed by slow bright loops
2002/02/22
02:06 UT S West Faint narrow ragged front
04:54 UT N West Faint front followed by brighter slower loops.
Wider and to N of 21:30 event
09:30 UT N West Wide bright front along streamer. Cavity and
some core-like material follow
09:30 UT S West Multiple loop front with cavity and some
trailing material. Distinct from previous
event, also somewhat slower
