LASCO Activity Report for
November 6, 2001 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

Timings given below on 2001/11/05 are approximate, correct to
~10 mins, due to a subset of the high-cadence LASCO campaign,
taken during the EIT bakeout, being analysed at this preliminary
stage.

Data from ~17:30 UT 2001/11/04 are badly degraded due to an ongoing
proton storm. Images between 2001/11/05 ~15:30 UT and 2001/11/06
~05:29 UT are particularly degraded, presumably due to the oncoming
CME/shock, and associated shock-drift particle acceleration. Now
that the shock and CME have passed, levels are dropping

2001/11/05

01:07 UT N East	Fairly wide bright front

10:02 UT S West	Fast narrow bright front

~15:30 - 23:59 UT	Data too degraded to identify any CMEs

2001/11/06

Not possible to identify any CMEs in today's degraded data

	07:45 - ~14:00 UT	Temporary data gap
