LASCO Activity Report for
October 29, 2001 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.
Points Of Interest
None today.
2001/10/26
03:26 UT N West Narrow front with bright trailing feature,
possible disconnection feature
07:27 UT N West Faint front from similar region to previous event
09:26 UT N West Initially narrow bright ragged front widens
through C2. Some trailing material
15:26 UT N East Very faint loop front
20:50 UT N Pole Wide bright well-defined loop front, arcade of
narrower loop fronts follows, then prominence
material at 23:50. Gusty outflow for all of next day
2001/10/27
04:06 UT S East Fairly wide bright loop front with cavity
and faint ragged core
06:50 UT N West Fast asymmetric front with cavity and some
trailing material
19:27 UT S East Wide bright loop front with clear cavity and
complex core
2001/10/28
00:26 UT N East Bright loop front with cavity and core, appears
to originate near N extremity of previous event
01:27 UT S West Fairly narrow front with faint cavity
11:26 UT S West Narrow ragged front with slower fainter
extensions to N and S
19:27 UT N Pole Narrow bright front, faint loop fronts nearby
23:26 UT N East Last and brightest of prolonged sequence of blobs
2001/10/29
02:50 UT N West Narrow front fades through C2
06:06 UT S East Initially bright loop front with cavity, fades
08:26 UT S West Narrow bright front with slower fainter extensions
similar to previous day's 11:26 event
11:50 UT N West Fast, bright 3-part CME, bright loop front with
clear cavity and complex knotted core, still in
progress at time of writing. Backsided event
