LASCO Activity Report for
September 19, 2001 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

Kreutz comet SOHO-351 (disc. X Leprette) in a search of archival
data from 1996/01/21. Only C3 data is available for this date.
Last observed 1996/01/21 at 14:56 UT, at 9.2 Rs, PA 116.

2001/09/18

05:06 UT N East	Very faint front with gusty outflow

05:30 UT S West	Very faint ragged outflow along streamer

13:31 UT N East	Largest of several fairly faint blobs

14:54 UT S West	Very faint ragged front, slow

16:54 UT HALO Faint front in N East is full halo CME
by 18:54, though very faint over S Pole.
			Slow event soon overtaken by

20:30 UT HALO Narrow bright front in S West is full
halo CME by 21:30, clearly visible all
			around C2 occultor. Multiple-loop event
with core and some arcades in S West.
			Significantly faster than previous event

2001/09/19

02:54 UT N East	Initially narrow blob-like feature widens
to a faint front through C2.

03:54 UT N East	Well-defined loop fronts fill large part
of quadrant, fairly bright. Arcades follow
towards N extremeity by 07:31. Slower loops
follow. All S of previous event

07:31 UT S West	Fast wide bright front spans ~140 deg by
08:30. Cavity, core in S West, then numerous
			prolonged arcades. Probably backsided,
			maybe from AR9608?

08:30 UT N Pole	Very faint front
