LASCO Activity Report for
September 5, 2001 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

Kreutz comet SOHO-347 (disc. S Hoenig) visible in C3 data from
2001/09/03 and C2 data from 2001/09/04. Very bright with long
bright tail. Also observed in color sequences in both C3 and C2.
Last measured 2001/09/04 at 17:40 UT, at 4.5 Rs, PA 246. Due to
the color sequences and data gaps the next image is at 19:29
and at this time the tail is clearly visible but the coma has
vanished behind the C2 occulting disk.

Kreutz comet SOHO-348 (disc. M Meyer) presently visible in C3
data, last observed 2001/09/05 at 09:42 UT, at 10.7 Rs, PA 243.
