Points Of Interest

LASCO C2 and C3 doors opened August 2, 2001 at 17:30 UT.  
Synoptic image program resumed at 21:00 UT.

Planet Mercury in Lasco C3 and C2 fields of view moving right to left.

A Sungrazing Comet is visible in the C2 and C3 images 8/4 23:18 UT till
8/5 06:54 UT.  Comet discovered by Toni Scarmato.

2001/08/05

02:54 UT  SS West	Rising loops over limb.  Rough helmut front
			with multiple interior loopings.  Very slow.
			Event breakes free by 06:06 UT as a 
			large loop event with core and continued outflow.
			Filament related event.

03:54 UT  NN East	Bright symetrical loop front event.
			[Notice the dark jet "absorption" ? feature
			in movie on West edge of event.]

10:30 UT  West Limb	Jet with continued outflows.

19:31 UT  S West	Narrow jet.

21:30 UT  S West	Narrow jet with Northward shift.

2001/08/07

01:32 UT  N Pole	Small faint puff event.

06:30 UT  S East	Bright jet, narrow, fast. Continued outflow.

16:30 UT  West Limb	Ragged edge jet, narrow.

18:06 UT  N Pole	Rising loops over limb.  Develops to very large
			multiloop CME with core.  Complex interior
			twisting structures with continued outflows.
			Filament eruption related event.
	19:31:46 UT C2 Running Difference Image.
	00:30:05 UT C2 Running Difference Image.
	C2 Running Difference Movie.

19:31 UT  West Limb	A second small CME with rough front. Follows
			path of the 16:30 UT event.

07:54 UT  West Limb	Small puff event.  DSN data gap before event finishes.
