LASCO Activity Report for
July 23, 2001 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.

Points Of Interest

None today

2001/07/20

05:30 UT N Pole	Slow 3-part(?) CME already in progress. Cavity(?)
visible 07:31, core(?) by 08:54, still moving very
slowly when interrupted by data gap. Large EIT
			eruptive filament
	C2 Running Difference movie.

07:31 UT N East	Faint spray from same region as previous day's events

13:31 UT N East	Thick narrow ragged front with cavity, core
			and arcades

16:54 UT S West	Loops rise slowly along streamer following swelling,
outflow and brightening throughout day. Some arcades
			follow

17:39 UT N East	Narrow jet, others at 19:01, 23:54

20:58 UT S East	Wide bright spray/ragged front, similar smaller
			event follows at 23:15

23:54 UT S East	Narrow bright well-defined loop front fades in
			C2, faint cavity follows

2001/07/21

04:30 UT S West	Fast wide fan

14:54 UT W Limb	Narrow fan

17:54 UT S East	Faint loop with bright radial feature towards S

21:54 UT S East	Bright spray widens to ragged front in C2

23:54 UT W Limb	Faint fan, fairly narrow

2001/07/22

03:30 UT S West	Fast wide fan/narrow front, with some gusty
			outflow towards S

14:30 UT S West	Small spray

17:54 UT S West	Faint nebulous front, faint cavity follows

19:54 UT S East	Faint narrow spray

21:30 UT S East	Fairly wide loops rise slowly along faint streamer
			to ~3 Rs, then accelerate

2001/07/23

00:54 - 10:27 UT	Data gap due to instrument problem

10:27 UT N West	Fast bright 3-part CME with very clear cavity
and bright core, already in progress

11:31 - time of writing Temporary data gap
