LASCO Activity Report for
June 04, 2001 SOHO Science Daily Meeting
Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence
Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
Points Of Interest
Jupiter is presently in C3's field of view, moving left to right.
2001/06/01
03:54 UT S East Jet, narrow, defined.
05:06 - 07:54 UT Temporary data gap
07:54 UT N West Fairly faint loop front already in progress.
Further fainter loops follow
15:54 UT S West Bright loops rise slowly; faint ragged front
appears somewhat to N
17:06 UT W Limb Bright loop front with cavity and arcades. Much
cross-hatching and gusty outflow
18:54 UT S East Initially bright loop front along/near streamer
fades in C2
23:30 UT S East Bright feature along narrow streamer
2001/06/02
02:30 UT S West Nebulous ejection in 1 image only
02:30 - 03:54 UT Temporary data gap
03:54 UT N West Narrow bright jet
07:31 UT S West Initially narrow bright front widens in C2
07:31 UT E Limb Narrow loop front
11:54 UT N West Bright loop front with cavity and arcades.
Much gusty outflow, and fairly bright front
at 15:54
14:30 UT N East Fairly wide loop front fades in C2
17:54 UT N East Faint blob
23:06 UT W Limb Narrow bright loops begin to rise slowly
2001/06/03
00:30 UT S East Faint fan, others at 01:54, 10:34, 17:30
00:54 UT S West Faint loop front
07:31 UT E Limb Narrow front, fairly bright
12:30 UT N West Faint front along streamer after series of
small bright blobs. Narrow loops rise very
slowly afterwards.
15:08 UT N West Brighter front, somewhat to N. Another similar
event at 18:30, then narrower event (widens in
C2) at 21:30
21:30 UT E Limb Thick wide bright front with cavity and faint core
2001/06/04
00:54 UT N West Bright asymmetric front with cavity and small
bright core. Some arcades and cross-hatching
04:30 - 07:54 UT Temporary data gap
08:30 UT E Limb Fairly fast bright loop front with cavity
and some arcades
