Kreutz sungrazing comet SOHO 299(TBC) (discoverer: M. Boschat) in C2 field of view, prior to data gap. It can be seen at ~6.6 Rs at PA 126 in the 00:26 UT image. Brighter than average, with significant tail.
17:06 UT Halo Thin front initially bright fades in C2, over N Pole from PA 350 to 50. Fainter extensions to ~PA160 and very faint over S and W. Plane-of-sky speed to ~18 Rs about 638 km/s with significant deceleration. C9 flare in AR 9394 peaks around 17:00
