Subject: SOHO/LASCO HALO CME 130514ab UCMEO 93001 30514 2030/ 30514 60124 80418 0702/ 069// 233// 42072 30514 60005 80145 19312 11748 1112/ 99999 PLAIN SOHO/LASCO observed two (2) HALO CMEs in close succession on May 14, 2013. Event (A) is first seen in C2 at 01:25 UT as a bright loop in progress at first frame with LE at 5.2Rsun. The front expands with extensions to a full HALO CME by 02:24 UT. The event continues into the C3 field beginning 01:30 to 04:18 UT leaving the C3 field of view at 30Rsun in the East hemisphere. The second event (B) begins 02:00 UT with loop edge over the East. The event expands to a partial HALO 280 degrees in width. Event (A): Time/height measurements were marked to 7 points in C3 only, with speeds of 2071.7 Km/sec with acceleration -45.26 m/sec^2. Event (B): Time/height measurements were marked to 4 points in C2 with speeds of 694.3 Km/sec at position angle 91 degrees. The event is marked to 5 points in C3. Speeds average through both fields to 996.4 Km/sec at PA 89 degrees. Acceleration 48.18 m/sec^2. SDO/AIA 193A shows a flare on the East limb at N12 00:09-01:54 and 02:06-02:24 UT. A dimming and wave is seen over the east hemisphere and North Pole area. STEREO: BEACON Data COR2 B, 01:24-02:39 UT, asymmetric HALO over the West. Preliminary time/height measure gives 1728.6 km/sec velocity at LE. EUVI B, 00:05-01:55 UT a flare of AR 11748 near the limb in the NW at location [N12, E93]. A second brightening of the AR is seen 02:05-02:45 UT. The flare(s) produced a wave and dimming of the West with post arcade. COR2 A, 15:54-02:54 UT data gap. At 02:54 UT a CME in progress with LE already out of the field of view. EUVI A, n/a NOAA reports a X3.2 class X-ray flare from AR 11748 00:00/01:11/01:20 UT. This flare appears to be associated with the flare seen on the limb in the East. The observation of this event is considered 'GOOD'. This CME is determined a FARSIDE LIMB event. There is associated material seen on disk in the East hemisphere.
