Subject: SOHO/LASCO HALO CME 121014 BACKSIDED UCMEO 93001 21014 1530/ 21014 60048 80642 0632/ 062// 223// 31120 21013 62316 80106 ///// ///// 2212/ 99999 PLAIN SOHO/LASCO observed an asymmetric HALO CME on October 14, 2012. Event is first seen in C2 at 00:48 UT as a loop on the Northeast limb. The event develops and expands to a full asymmetric halo CME with ejecta by 01:48 UT. The event continues into the C3 field beginning 01:30 to 06:42 UT leaving the C3 field at 30 Rsun in the Northeast. Time/height measurements were marked to 2 points in C2 with speeds of 1134.3 Km/sec at position angle 64 degrees. The event is marked to 7 points in C3. Speeds average through both fields to 1119.9 Km/sec at PA 63 degrees. Acceleration -41.77 m/sec^2. SDO/AIA : 193 shows a burst from over the Northeast limb 00:21-01:00 UT with another CME over the limb 02:12-03:00 UT producing bright post arcade surfacing over the limb. AIA 304 shows a large loop emission over the Northeast 00:30-01:24 UT. STEREO: BEACON data COR2 B, 00:55-03:55 UT data gap. At first frame in progress a full halo. No preliminary time/height measure can be taken. EUVI B 195, 01:06-03:46 UT data gap. A filament eruption is seen 23:16-01:06 UT before data gap located on disk in NE quadrant [N13, E138]. The event produced a dimming. After the data gap post arcade is seen from AR in NW quadrant located [N21, E98]. COR2 A, 23:54-03:24 UT data gap. At first frame, CME in progress with ejecta over West hemisphere. No preliminary time/height measure can be taken. EUVI A 195, n/a. NOAA reports a long duration C4.8 X-ray flare 02:15/02:30/03:09 UT. This event appears to be associated with the arcade seen on the limb in the NE. The observation of this event is considered 'FAIR'. This CME is determined a BACKSIDED event.
