Subject: SOHO/LASCO HALO CME 120702 BACKSIDED UCMEO 93001 20702 2100/ 20702 60836 81254 0972/ 096// 323// 31203 20702 60745 80835 ///// ///// 1222/ 99999 PLAIN SOHO/LASCO observed a full HALO CME on July 2, 2012. Event is first seen in C2 at 08:36 UT as a bright expanding loop with cavity over the SE. The event is an asymmetric halo (east) by 10:12 UT. The event continues into the C3 field beginning 09:06 to 12:54 UT out to 27 Rsun at last frame before a DSN gap period. Time/height measurements were marked to 2 points in C2 with speeds of 1182.0 Km/sec at position angle 97 degrees. The event is marked to 9 points in C3. Speeds average through both fields to 1202.6 Km/sec at PA 97 degrees. Acceleration -17.29 m/sec^2. SDO/AIA 193 shows material from a cme beginning 07:57-08:33 UT over the east limb south of the equator. STEREO: Beacon data COR2 B, 08:54 UT a symmetric halo which appears a multi part emission. Preliminary time/height measure gives 841.1 km/sec velocity at LE. EUVI B, 07:45-08:35 UT flare from AR on disk in SE [S19, E132]. COR2 A, 08:54-11:24 UT data gap. EUVI A, 08:45-11:15 UT data gap. A cme from over the west limb 07:55-08:25 UT. The observation of this event is considered 'FAIR'. This CME is determined a BACKSIDED event.
