SOHO/LASCO HALO CME 120512 UCMEO 93001 20516 1920/ 20512 60000 80630 1171/ 116// 213// 30962 20511 62318 80051 21516 ///// 2212/ 99999 PLAIN SOHO/LASCO observed a HALO CME on May 12, 2012. Event is first seen in C2 at 00:00 UT with a wide faint loop surfacing along the east. The loop expands with extensions to a full halo by 00:36 UT. A bright loop with core is seen over the equatorial east area. This is a separate part of the associated loop system. The event continues into the C3 field beginning 00:30-06:30 UT out to the edge of field at 30 Rsun in the SE. Time/height measurements were marked at 4 points in C2 with speeds of 922.4 Km/sec at position angle 118 degrees. The event is marked to 7 points in C3. Speeds average through both fields to 961.7 Km/sec at PA 118 degrees. Acceleration of 8.13 m/sec^2. SDO AIA 193 shows activated loops of a region in the SE with sigmoidal properties located at [S16,E15]. Beginning 23:24 UT, a dimming of the area with flaring and arcade. AIA 304 shows a filament eruption of the region 23:18-00:51 UT with ejecta from the northern edge of the region. STEREO: HR data COR2 B, 23:53-02:24 UT, a loop expanding over the west. Preliminary time/height measure gives 1083.4 km/sec velocity at LE. EUVI B 195, 22:50 UT loops over limb activate and erupt by 23:15-00:10 UT. EUVI B 304, 23:11-00:31 UT filament material eruption off the west limb. COR2 A, 23:54-03:24 UT shows an asymmetric halo east. Preliminary time/height measure gives 727.7 km/sec velocity at LE. EUVI A 195, 23:05 UT Activated loops which erupt 23:20-23:55 UT. A 2nd emission north beginning 00:55-01:20 UT which seems associated. EUVI A 304, 23:26-00:56 UT, CME off east limb. NOAA reports a flare 23:41-00:01 UT from location [S17,E14] The observation of this event is considered 'FAIR'. This CME is determined FRONTSIDED.
