Subject: SOHO/LASCO Partial HALO CME 091216 UCMEO 93001 91216 2228/ 91216 60406 90942 3401/ 120// 112// 40225 91216 60113 80224 43005 11035 1112/ 99999 PLAIN SOHO/LASCO C2 observed a wide loop front over the northern hemisphere on December 16, 2009 04:06 UT. The approximate position angle range of 340 - 120 degrees. At this time SOHO is in an inverted roll position so there is conflict to the edge where it falls behind the pylons in the NW. The event continues into the C3 field and measured in the last frame at the time of this writing of 09:42. Time/height measurements were marked and calculated to velocities of this event of 225.2 Km/sec at position angle 42 degrees. The event propagated from AR 11035 at N30W05 as seen in EIT with a flare from the region at 01:13-02:24 UT. An EIT wave is produced at all angles with a north eastern projection but possibly including AR 11034 which is adjacent of the epicenter to the south. GOES shows a C5.4 xray flare at 01:02-01:35 UT claiming AR 11035. This flare is most probably associated with the flare and CME observed in the EIT and LASCO fields. LASCO and EIT images, movies and time/height information for this event is available on the web at: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/lasco/observations/halo/2009/091216/ Best regards, Kevin Schenk SOHO Mission EIT and LASCO Operations NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center, USA BT
