1800/ 50104 61836 82036 2651/ 265// 333// 41498 50104 61823 82031 31958 13939 1112/ 99999 PLAIN SOHO/LASCO HALO CME January 4, 2025 C2 Start Time: 18:36 UT C3 Start Time: 18:54 - 22:54 UT Type of CME: Partial Asymmetric HALO CME — FRONTSIDE pa1: 265 pa2: 265 Total Width: 360 degrees Velocity Measurements: C2: 3 points 1118.6 km/sec @ PA 265.20 C3: 9 points 1469.9 km/sec @ PA 265.84 Average through both(C2/C3) fields: 1498.4 km/sec Acceleration: -38.13 m/sec^2 COMMENT: LASCO C2/C3 shows a frontside-directed partial halo in the south-west direction. NOAA reports a C7.6 class flare in AR 3939 [S19W58] starting @ 18:27 UTC. SolarSoft details that the flare appears to be associated with a pair of LDEs in the south west quadrant in active regions 13939 along with an AR 13941 connection post-eruption arcades can be seen in GOES-16 SUVI 171 angstroms along the west limb. GOES-P Proton Flux shows a rapid augmentation of proton flux @ 20:15 UTC, exceeding 10 proton flux units @ 22:15 UTC. The proton flux peaks at 20 pfu @ 00:55 UTC on January 5th.
