We are studying the doppler shifts of transition region and coronal
emission lines at the boundary of a coronal hole with SUMER. We
obtained SUMER observations of the north polar coronal hole on
November 2, 1996 from approximately 6 UT to 22 UT. Spectra were
obtained for the wavelength regions near the O VI, Ne VIII, and Mg X
resonance lines. We would like to use EIT images to help us identify
the boundary of the coronal hole and any other features of
interest. This study would make use of any partial frame or full frame
images taken during this time.

title
Doppler Velocities at the Boundary of a Coronal Hole

update added on 1998/03/04 at 08:52:46
Our analysis of these observations indicated that near 600,000 K
there is a transition to net outflows in the coronal hole.

The results of this investigation were published in:
