The CDS St.Andrews/RAL LOOPS Campaign ran from 12th to 15th
November 1996. The aim of the campaign is the investigation
of a selection of coronal loop features invovling various
aspects of loop structure and activity.

The campaign consisted of several different studies ranging
from a large-scale, long exposure raster (to investigate the
temperature and density profiles along a loop) to single slit
observations to detect the most rapid intensity variations.
The dates and times of the LOOPS runs are presented in the
table below.

Corresponding EIT images of the target loop systems would be
invaluable in determining the overall loop structure as well
as giving a global impression of the surrounding area. A list
of EIT observations is presented below which would support
the LOOPS Campaign.

Also, we are applying for MDI magnetograms of the target loops.
Here at St.Andrews, we have the capacity to "reconstruct' the
magnetic field from magnetogram images. This will give us a
3D impression of the loop system which could be compared with
the EIT images.

Overall, we believe the additional information provided by EIT
would be of great benefit to and essential to the success of
the LOOPS Campaign.
