The proposers take part in a joint project, stimulated by and
encouraged during the SOHO-Yohkoh workshop held in MEDOC (Orsay,
Paris), October 1997; the project is aimed to study the dynamics and
the structure of the active region loops and, in particular, to
ascertain the presence of plasma flows inside them. One of the
proposers (G.P.) was the leader of the team 3, dedicated to flows
and waves.

Our interest focuses in understanding how frequent flows are, how they
evolve and, more in general, which is the confined loop plasma
dynamics, with the emphasis on the more complete physical scenario
resulting from using jointly Yohkoh and SOHO data.

To this end, we propose to analyze the EIT data of AR 8026 on Apr. 9,
1997 observed on the east limb; simultaneous observations taken
by CDS and Yohkoh/SXT are available. The proposers plan to study the
data of EIT to ascertain the morphology, the dynamics and the evolution
of the AR.

Other members of the Team 3 mentioned above will analyze CDS data and
the Yohkoh/SXT data to complete the study of the AR.

We shall study temperature and emission measure for the AR, as
resulting from the EIT data and do some modeling and interpretation of
such results.

evolve and, more in general, which is the confined loop plasma
dynamics, with the emphasis on the more complete physical scenario
resulting from using jointly Yohkoh and SOHO data.

To this end, we are analyzing the EIT data of AR 8026 on Apr. 9, 1997
observed on the east limb simultaneous observations taken by CDS and
Yohkoh/SXT are available. Our first aim is to ascertain the
morphology, the dynamics and the evolution of the active region.

In this perspective, we selected a sequence of 92 images (from 00:07 to
23:52) through the Fe XII filter (195 A) to study the evolution of the
active region. Furthermore we selected images in the filters of Fe IX/X
(171 A, 20:41), Fe XII filter (195 A, 20:54), and the Fe XV (284 A,
20:47) to derive maps of temperature and emission measure and to study
the temperature and emission measure structure for the active region.

Other members of the Team 3 mentioned above are analyzing CDS data and
the Yohkoh/SXT data to complete the study of the active region. We also
plan to do some modelling and interpretation of such results.
