proposal
Active Regions and sunspots have been observed
with a ground-basesd telescope (GCT, Tenerife) and SUMER
in the second week of May.
I had requested to include EIT in this investigation
which is aimed at comparing high resolution magnetic
field information (from ground) with intensity and spectro-
scopic information (from EIT and SUMER) of the same region
on the sun.
The ground-based observations include simultaneous
observations of photospheric and chromospheric spectral lines
in Stokes I and V to get a detailed spatial map of the magnetic
field in these two heights in the solar atmosphere.
SUMER provides additional spectral information from
a number of chromospheric and TR lines and EIT
adds intensity information in the highest regions of the
atmosphere (using He II 304 A and Fe IX-X 171 A).

F.Clette, the EIT planner of this period carried out
the EIT program and B.J.Thompson will act as collaborative member
of the EIT consortium of this proposal.
