Using Nobeyama 17 GHz radio heliograph data we propose to study
the microwave counterparts of the explosive events observed by EIT, namely
polar plumes or jets. These erupting jets are much more explosive or
impulsive than the coronal X-ray jets observed by Yohkoh.The radio data in
general have much better cadence than the EIT data.So we shall choose periods
when EIT was in high cadence mode.In fact we have collected an excellent set
of 17 GHz polar maps with good
cadence, ~ 1 min, and spatial resolution of
10" during some SOHO coordinated campaign observations (May- June ,1996).We
propose to collect the EIT data and proceed with the analysis.This set of data
should permit us to relate specific erupting plumes/groups of plumes with
microwave structures in the polar regions.
