proposal
I seek, with other participants in the SOHO-Yohkoh CME workshop,
to describe the chronology of events seen in different wavelengths
and heights in the solar atmosphere of the enormous eruptive
filament and coronal mass ejection of 1997 February 7. This event
is of special interest because its geomagnetic signature was similar
to that of the 1997 January 6 event, for which virtually no disk
observations are available.

Using both the 4 x 4 binned, Fe XII "CME watch" images for the
period 1997 February 6 - 7, and the synoptic images from these
days, I propose to combine EIT observations with LASCO, SXT, and
ground-based radio and optical observations for use as input for
mass ejection modellers.

This work has grown out of activitivies at the Workshop held
at Goddard 1997 March 3 - 7.

Collaborators include: J. Burkepile (HAO), R. Howard (NRL),
N. Gopalswamy (U Md.), N. Nitta (LMSC).
