Solar diameter determinations have been carried out in the visible range since a long time. There are few works in microwaves. In particular, Costa et al (ApJ, 520, L63, 1999) have shown that at 6.25 mm solar diameter determinations are in excelent agreement with total solar irradiance observed by ACRIM satellites for the period 1991 - 1994.

Present observations and models state that mm-waves are formed in the low Corona, Transition Region.

We want to use daily EIT images at 30.4 nm since 1996 until present, to determine the solar diameter and its possible variation with the solar cycle. This line is formed primarily at 60-80 thousand Kelvin, close to the region where micro-wave emission is formed.

We have developed an algorithm using mutiple resolution wavelet
decomposition to get the solar radius. This algorithm is able to separate the contribution from the disk and the corona, allowing us a precise determination of the solar radius.
