Title: Correlation of shear in coronal loops
with heating and energy balance

Proposal:
We try to look forward, how shear in coronal loops has
effect in heating and energy balance.

Shear is a consequence of a gradient of velocity.
This can be quantified with measurement of 2 velocity.
Two methods for determine the velocity are explain
below.

Concerning the energy, the main part comes from the
thermal energy deduced
from Saha's laws with observations of each wavelengths.
In the balance,
we have to take care to the magnetic and waves energy.
This is related to
the subject 3.1("Signatures of waves").

For having a general idea about the order of the
phenomena,
we assume that the velocity is about the same in loops
and flares.
With the altitude growed by a flare, while taking care
about projection effect,
and delay between 2 pictures, we obtain velocity of the
ion, so, with
different wavelengths, the velocity gradient.

Specific: Tasks:
----------------
For EIT observation, we need mini-films at each
wavelengths. I purpose
to observe a chosen loop with pictures of about 200*200
pixels taken at
304A, followed by another at 171A, another at 195A,
another at 284A, and so on.
Each minute an image is taken in a wavelength, and we
observe the evolution
during approximatively 15 minutes. We have to do the
same sequence
(little pictures taken every minutes in 304A, 171A,
195A, 284A) with a flare
to calibrate the velocity (if possible in the same area
of the sun).
