        Region in the Northeast continues a high level of 
activity through 04:22 UT.
        Absorbtion features in South polar crown filament
channel begin to rise at 03:30 UT.  Dimming near vertex reaches a
maximum at 06:00 UT.  Brightening starts by 06:12 UT.  This is 
possibly what the January 3rd event would look like head on.
        Leading-edge of south polar crown filament arcade
continues to be brightest.
