The background of the EIT images consists of the sum of the dark current, the read out noise and the offset introduced by the analog to digital converter (ADC). The background is regularly measured by taking the median of zero second full resolution images. These data (crosses) are plotted as a function of time in the above figure. The red line corresponds to a Fourier series representation with 36 components. This parametrisation is returned by the eit_dark.pro function. This plot is updated every few months.
