XSEARCH_OBS provides graphical front end access to the Yohkoh Observing Log.
The user can select search criteria and define various options for output
.
The calling sequence is:
IDL> xsearch_obs
The following features are anticipated.
- graphical definition of instrument parameters initiate search of observing
log (for example, sswhere-derived interface is used for SXT searches).
- save defined search parameters in a configuration file which can be used for a
repeat search on different times or as starting point for future
parameter modifications.
- read in existing search parameter configuration file to set initial (or
final) parameters - this permits archiving of useful search definitions
and promotes repeatability.
- provide access to low level routines which translate observing log
records to archive tape names or MO disk names and data sets and ultimately
allow reformatted data extraction.
