VI/1 Yohkoh BCS Flare Catalog (Kuin+ 2006) =============================================================== The Yohkoh Bragg Chrystal Spectrometer Flare catalog Kuin N.P.M., Mathews S., Culhane, L., Foley C. =2006MSSLprepr....1K =============================================================== ADC_Keywords: Sun Description: This catalog lists for flares observed by the Yohkoh Bent Chrystal Spectro- meter between 1 October 1991 and 15 December 2001 the fitted temperature and emission measure at flare maximum, flare times, and observed flux in the lines of S XV, Ca XIX, Fe XXV and Fe XXVI. The ratio of the main X-ray line to satellite lines is temperature sensitive in these spectra so that a temperature can be found. Only flares that were well observed were selected for the main catalog. Weak flares were omitted because the spectra are too noisy to determine a reliable temperature. If the error in the data is too large, the data is omitted, which in particular affects Fe XXV and Fe XXVI. However, an unverified list of automated fits to the all processed flares, including many weaker ones has been included. Also available for each flare is a plot with the lightcurve, spectra at flare max, and temperature fit, and, when possible, GOES X-ray flux, and an image of the spectra over time. This Documentation follows the standard for tabular data from the CDS in Strassbourg, France, which was developed in collaboration with the ADC data center at NASA/GSFC in 1994. CDS provides also tools to manipulate and verify tabular data and convert it to FITS. ================================================================================ (End) kuin 2006-Aug-26
