LASCO Activity Report for
January 7, 2008 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2008/01/04 (Friday)

	  EN East	Pseudo-continuous outflow.

09:30 UT EN East	Very ragged (not-well-defined) front. Faint
expanding extensions toward N by 10:30 UT
(past the N Pole by 13:54 UT; by that time
the expanding extension meets the northern
leg of a system of loops developing since
earlier on NNW -difficult to give an exact
			time of first appearance-).

2008/01/05 (Saturday)

EN East	Some pseudo-continuous outflow along the
	  		day.

2008/01/06 (Sunday)

03:30 UT S East	Very narrow and elongated spray-like front
immediately followed (03:54 UT) by a very
narrow and elongated loop (jet-like) front.

04:30 UT N Pole Very narrow and elongated loop (jet-like)
			front.

05:30 UT NN West	Diffuse fan-like front that quickly fades.

Note:
----
EIT 195 images show a wave with origin on NOAA AR 10981 (N27, past
the central meridian), propagating toward NW, N, W between - 16:00 -
17:24 UT (first EIT wave of the new solar cycle). There are no
visible signatures of the event in the LASCO coronagraphs.

2008/01/07 (Monday)

02:54 UT S East Jet-like front.

03:30 UT NN West	Faint and diffuse expanding loop front
preceding the development of an elongated
			loop front.

Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 14:30 UT
