LASCO Activity Report for
December 11, 2006 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

KEYHOLE (#15) Operations:
-------------------------

* 2006/11/24 - 2006/12/11: 26 m keyhole
* 2006/11/27 - 2006/12/08: 34 m keyhole

* SOHO Maneuvers on 2006/12/05 (Station Keeping, Momentum Management and Roll)
  LASCO closed doors on 2006/12/04 at ~ 15:00 UT and resumed operations on
  2006/12/06 at ~ 19:00 UT.

* 2006/11/25 - 2006/12/12: EIT Bakeout

* The TLM Keyhole #15 will have short daily passes and therefore limited
  LASCO recorded data. Outside the periods of contact LASCO will go idle via
  the on-board program.

* LASCO will observe in improved mode during TLM Keyhole #15 (C2 12 min
  cadence, C3 30 min cadence with daily orange/blue pairs and pB if possible.)

2006/12/08 (Friday)

Note:
----
Images still highly degreded by the ongoing proton storm, which starts
subsiding by the end of the day.

00:00 UT S East	A CME (most likely trailing material) can be guessed
 			under development in the highly degrades C2 and C3
 			images.

	13:33 - 18:46 UT	LASCO Data Gap.

19:19 UT WN West	Bright ragged loop front with (apparently) structured
			interior.

2006/12/09 (Saturday)

Note:
----
The proton storm still continues, gradually less intense.

	05:18 - 08:06 UT	LASCO Data Gap.

14:36 UT E Limb	Small front that fades close to the inner edge of C3.

19:36 UT S West	Elongated and ragged loop-like structure. It fades
			throughout C3.

2006/12/10 (Sunday)

Note:
----
The proton storm still continues, gradually less intense.

No significant activity.

2006/12/11 (Monday)

Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 00:00 UT.
