LASCO Activity Report for
December 08, 2006 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

KEYHOLE (#15) Operations:
-------------------------

* 2006/11/24 - 2006/12/11: 26 m keyhole
* 2006/11/27 - 2006/12/08: 34 m keyhole

* SOHO Maneuvers on 2006/12/05 (Station Keeping, Momentum Management and Roll)
  LASCO closed doors on 2006/12/04 at ~ 15:00 UT and resumed operations on
  2006/12/06 at ~ 19:00 UT.

* 2006/11/25 - 2006/12/12: EIT Bakeout

* The TLM Keyhole #15 will have short daily passes and therefore limited
  LASCO recorded data. Outside the periods of contact LASCO will go idle via
  the on-board program.

* LASCO will observe in improved mode during TLM Keyhole #15 (C2 12 min
  cadence, C3 30 min cadence with daily orange/blue pairs and pB if possible.)

NOTE:
----
C2 and C3 images highly degraded (degradation increases along the day) by
ongoing proton storm following events on previous days on NOAA AR 10930.

	  S East	Trailing material of a previous event.

	10:20 - 19:37 UT	LASCO Data Gap.

19:37 UT S East	Bright loop front most probably associated with
			the M2.0 X-ray flare recorded by GOES on NOAA AR
			10930 (S06E45) between 18:20 - 19:33 UT with peak
			emission at 19:13 UT. Note also that also multiple
			B- and C-class X-ray flares occurred during the day.

Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 21:18 UT.
