LASCO Activity Report for
December 06, 2006 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

KEYHOLE (#15) Operations:
-------------------------

* 2006/11/24 - 2006/12/11: 26 m keyhole
* 2006/11/27 - 2006/12/08: 34 m keyhole

* SOHO Maneuvers on 2006/12/05 (Station Keeping, Momentum Management and Roll)
  LASCO will close doors on 2006/12/04 at ~ 15:00 UT and will resume
  operations on 2006/12/06 at ~ 19:00 UT.

* 2006/11/25 - 2006/12/12: EIT Bakeout

* The TLM Keyhole #15 will have short daily passes and therefore limited
  LASCO recorded data. Outside the periods of contact LASCO will go idle via
  the on-board program.

* LASCO will observe in improved mode during TLM Keyhole #15 (C2 12 min
  cadence, C3 30 min cadence with daily orange/blue pairs and pB if possible.)

2006/12/05 (Tuesday)

	LASCO Doors closed for Maneuvers (SK, MM, and Roll)

NOTE:
-----
As recorded by GOES, during the last 24 hs multiple B-and C-class X-ray
activity was being produced by a new region now rotating over the SE
Limb -NOAA AR 10930- (little bit to S of NOAA AR 10929). GOES SXI identifies
this new region as the responsible of an X9.0 X-ray flare between 10:18 -
10:45 UT with peak emission at 10:35 UT (centroid at S07E68). The region
produced also an M1.8 X-ray flare (S07E73) between 07:45 - 08:06 UT with
peak emission at 08:03 UT.

2006/12/06 (Wednesday)

	LASCO Doors closed. It will resumed observations at ~ 19:00 UT.

NOTE:
-----
C-class X-ray activity. GOES recorded an M6.0 X-ray flare on NOAA AR 10930
(S02E65) between 08:02 - 09:03 UT with peak emission at 08:23 UT.
