Points Of Interest

KEYHOLE Operations:
-------------------
* Feb 22 - Mar 21: 26 m Keyhole.
* Feb 28 - Mar 16: 34 m Keyhole.

- S/C Roll on 2006/03/13.

- 2006/03/13 @ ~ 06:00 UT: End of Brueckner Plumes Study.
Afterward: Improve C2/C3 cadence for the rest of the Keyhole:
12 min cadence for C2, 30 min cadence for C3.

- "Brueckner Plumes study" resumed after S/C Maneuvers. Observing plan
will run until next Roll Maneuver (expected to occur on 2006/03/13).

- S/C Maneuvers (Station Keeping and Momentum Management) on 2006/03/07
==> LASCO safed for maneuvers on 2006/03/06 @ ~19:30 UT. LASCO recovery
on 2006/03/10 (due to DSN & Mars explorer) @ 02:30 UT.

- LASCO run a version of the "Brueckner plumes study" of Mar 21 1997 prior
to the S/C maneuver (32x13 LOCS block FOV over the South pole including the
coronal hole, starting on 2006/02/28 @ 03:45 UT; the sequence was C2
orange/clear filters, 100 sec exp, 5 min cadence). In addition, there were
FFFres C2 and C3 at 1 hr cadence for the web and daily orange/blue fielding
images and orange filter pB sets.

- EIT CCD Bakeout bewtween 2006/02/28 03:00 UT - 2006/03/18.

First Full Field C2 image after recovery: 02:42 UT
First Full Field C3 image after recovery: 02:47 UT

02:42 UT N West	Slow development of a system of loops already under
development. Elongated loop front follows by ~
16:05 UT on WNW. Gusty outflow all across the
western limb well into next day.

17:05 UT E Limb	Diffuse front slightly developing toward ESE. It
			fades throughout C2.

2006/03/11 (Saturday)

07:05 UT N West	Diffuse front develops as a diffuse and ragged loop
 			front.

14:05 UT WS West	Bright loop front. GOES recorded a B3.4 X-ray flare
			on NOAA AR 10856 (S10W90) between 13:22 - 14:51 UT
with peak emission at 14:00 UT.

2006/03/12 (Sunday)

WS West	Gusty outflow and small ragged fronts along the day.

02:05 UT NN West	Diffuse jet-like front toward NW.

2006/03/13 (Monday)

10:24 - 15:24 UT	Temporary DSN Data Gap.

Last C2 image before closing doors for S/C Roll: 15:05 UT
Last C3 image before closing doors for S/C Roll: 15:18 UT

Note:
-----
LASCO closed doors @ 15:25 UT ahead of S/C Roll.
LASCO will resume operations @ ~ 21:00 UT.
