LASCO Activity Report for
February 3, 2006 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

Mercury can still be seen now in the C3 FOV, in the southern hemisphere, moving
from right to left.

2006/02/02 (Thursday)

03:30 UT EN East	Another reconection-type event at PA 68 (~ 4.23 solar
 			radii).

06:30 UT WN West	Very faint and diffuse loop front. Barely visible in
C3, and only very close to the inner edge of C3. By
~ 10:06 UT, an even fainter expanding loop front follows
			on NW.

09:30 UT ES East	Very narrow and diffuse fan-like front that quickly
			fades.

11:30 UT S West	Initially bright loop front superposed in the LOS with
slow development of a system of faint loops.

18:54 UT ES East Another very narrow and diffuse fan-like front that
 			quickly fades.

21:54 UT ES East	Very narrow loop front (jet-like) a little bit to S
of previous event. It fades close to the inner edge
			of C3.

2006/02/03 (Friday)

08:54 UT E Limb	Diffuse brightening precedes the development of a
bright loop front (first clearly seen at 09:30 UT)
with tsructured (twisted?) interior. It develops toward
ENE. EIT 195 images show the eruption of a prominence
between 00:00 - 09:36 UT, which was seen rising since
~ 15:24 UT on previous day.

Last C2 image available by the time of writing: 12:30 UT.
