LASCO Activity Report for
July 12, 2005 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

2005/07/11 (Monday)

00:30 UT W Limb	Just after the event reported to start at 23:06 UT,
an apparently new bright and ragged front appears.
			Much gusty outflow continues.

05:30 UT WN West	Initially bright and relatively small loop front.

06:54 UT W Limb	Initially bright and relatively small loop front that
quickly fades. Much gusty outflow continues.

13:54 UT WN West Another initially bright and relatively small loop
			front.

17:06 UT W Limb	Initially bright (and wider than previous fronts on
W-WNW) loop front. Gusty outflow continues. It fades
			throughout C3.

20:54 UT WN West	Faint ragged front that fades throughout C2.

23:54 UT WN West	Faint ragged front that quickly fades.

NOTE:
The activity seen on the W-WNW limb is most likely associated with X-ray
activity on NOAA AR 10786. GOES reported multiple B- and C-class X ray flares
on AR 10786 all along the day. In particular:

- a C2.4 (N09W47), peak at 06:16 UT,
- a C1.5 (N09W48), peak at 09:54 UT,
- a C8.4 (N09W51), peak at 15:08 UT,
- a C3.3 (N15W55), peak at 17:28 UT, and
- a C1.4 (N09W56), peak at 22:55 UT.

2005/07/12 (Tuesday)

NOTE:
NOAA AR 10786 continues with C-class X-ray activity along the day. In
particular:

- a C4.2 (N08W58), peak at 02:10 UT,
- a C2.4 (N13W65), peak at 05:25 UT,
- a C1.5 (N08W61), peak at 06:31 UT,
- a C3.0 (N13W63), peak at 07:00 UT,
- a C8.3 (N09W61), peak at 08:03 UT, and
- a C2.3 (N11W63), peak at 10:03 UT.

04:54 UT WN West	Elongated and diffuse ragged loop-like front.

05:30 UT W Limb	Bright and ragged loop front at roughly the PA of the
southern leg of previous event. Much gusty outflow
			continues.

Time of the last C2 image analyzed: 12:12 UT.
