LASCO Activity Report for
March 21, 2005 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

- Upcoming Maneuvers: The S/C roll back to 0 degrees is set for March 22.
LASCO will be safing for the roll, and station keep maneuvers Monday
March 21 at 20:00 UT closing doors. LASCO will open and resume ops
Thursday March 24 15:00 UT.

- During the keyhole LASCO will image at an improved cadence of C2 @ 12
minutes and C3 @30 minute cadences. This includes daily orange filter pB
sequence and flat field orange/blue images. Using the keyhole recording
scheme most all LASCO data will be recovered.

- EIT CCD Bakeout: 2005/03/11 (Friday) - 2005/03/31 (Thursday).

- On 2005/03/11 @ 15:00 UT (Friday) SOHO changed to Submode 5.

- 34 m Telemetry Keyhole began on 2005/03/10 (until 03/24).
- 26 m Telemetry Keyhole began on 2005/03/02 (until 04/01).

- Venus entered the C3 FOV from the right on 2005/02/26
(by the end of the day).

2005/03/18 (Friday)

02:12 UT WS West	Slow expanding loop front followed by a system of
			expanding loops.

12:24 UT W Limb	Couple of elongated loops. Some infalling material.

18:00 UT W Limb	Ragged front developing slightly toward WNW. It fades
			throughout C2.

2005/03/19 (Saturday)

07:36 UT WS West	Small ragged front along streamer that fades in C2.

13:24 UT S East	Faint ragged loop front. It fades throughout C3.

18:24 UT WS West	Small raged loop front along streamer that apparently
			fades throughout C2.

20:48 UT WS West	Initially bright ragged front with diffuse and
extremely faint extensions above the W Limb. It fades
			throughout C2.

2005/03/20 (Sunday)

02:12 UT WS West	Bright ragged loop front accompanied by a faint
expanding loop front (first seen at 02:24 UT) that
extends well above the SW Limb and seems to develop
a little bit faster. They both fade throughout C3.

12:12 UT WS West	Another bright ragged loop front.

18:36 UT W Limb	Faint and very narrow and elongated loop front.

23:12 UT WS West	Another bright ragged loop front.
