LASCO Activity Report for
March 14, 2005 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Stenborg

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

- On 2005/03/11 @ 15:00 UT (Friday) SOHO changed to Submode 5.

- 34 m Telemetry Keyhole began on 2005/03/10 (until 03/24).
- 26 m Telemetry Keyhole began on 2005/03/02 (until 04/01).

- Upcoming Maneuvers: The S/C roll back to 0 degrees is set for March 22.
LASCO will be safing for the roll, and station keep maneuvers Monday
March 21 at 20:00 UT closing doors. LASCO will open and resume ops
Thursday March 24 15:00 UT.

- During the keyhole LASCO will image at an improved cadence of C2 @ 12
minutes and C3 @30 minute cadences. This includes daily orange filter pB
sequence and flat field orange/blue images. Using the keyhole recording
scheme most all LASCO data will be recovered.

- EIT CCD Bakeout: 2005/03/11 (Friday) - 2005/03/31 (Thursday).

- Venus entered the C3 FOV from the right on 2005/02/26
(by the end of the day).

2005/03/11 (Friday)

01:31 UT N East	Elongated and expanding loop front a little bit to S
of event reported to start at 23:30 UT on previous
			day. It fades throughout C3.

12:30 UT N East	Another elongated and expanding loop front. It fades
			throughout C3.

15:30 UT S East	Initially bright ragged loop front.

	17:06 - 20:54 UT	LASCO Data Gap.

2005/03/12 (Saturday)

07:00 UT WN West	Very faint and ragged front that fades throughout C2.

13:48 UT N East	Elongated spray front.

17:24 UT EN East	Slow and expanding loop front with twisted interior
and trailing material. Excess intensity ahead of the
loop front can be seen since about one hour earlier.

17:00 UT WN West	Extremely faint front that fade throughout C2. It is
followed at around 22:36 UT by another faint and
			ragged front.

2005/03/13 (Sunday)

09:12 UT WN West	Another faint and ragged front that fades throughout
			C2.

10:24 UT S West	Slow development of a very faint and apparently
structured feature. Difficult to give an exact time
			of first appearance.

16:00 UT WN West	Ragged loop front that fades very close to the inner
edge of C3. Trailing material (gusty outflow).

2005/03/14 (Monday)

07:48 UT W Limb	Bright and wide loop front, followed by a cavity and
a bright twisted inner core (3-part structure CME).
			Trailing material.
