LASCO Activity Report for
September 3, 2002 SOHO Science Daily Meeting

Planner: K. Schenk, G. Lawrence

Event times are first frame seen in C2 camera unless otherwise noted.
These are preliminary observations for the daily SOHO science discussions.
Final analysis is reported on the Lasco CME list.
An archive of these reports is available.

Points Of Interest

EIT CCD bakeout over the holiday weekend - no regular EIT
observations from ~20:30 2002/08/30 to ~21:00 2002/09/03

LASCO C2 and C3 observations taken at increased cadence
over the weekend: ~ 5 mins and ~15 mins respectively

2002/08/30

03:06 UT W Limb	Wide loop front, generally moderately bright
			but with substantially brighter central
feature. Front spans ~90 deg, streamers
disrupted in NW and SW, possible extremely
			faint extension to N pole

11:30 UT S West	Faint ragged loop front, moderately wide,
			fades and disintegrates through C2

13:54 UT N East	Sequence of ragged loop fronts, initially
			quite bright. Fainter loops follow

15:30 UT W Limb	Sequence of bright spray-like fronts

21:18 UT N East	More ragged loop fronts follow 13:54 event

2002/08/31

01:25 UT S East	Narrow fan-like front with cavity

14:05 UT N East	Narrow loop front along wide bright
			streamer, quite bright

14:05 UT S East	Narrow ragged front along faint streamer

2002/09/01

02:05 UT E Limb	First of a sequence of faint fan-like fronts

03:10 UT S West	Wide bright loop front with cavity and
			bright structured core. Extremely symmetric
event, initially very slow. Some trailing
			material and fronts

11:05 UT N East	Initially very narrow blob-like front expands
			through C2, moderately bright

19:40 UT N East	Initially fairly bright loop front fades and
			disintegrates through C2. Slight core-like
			region follows

2002/09/02

16:05 UT S West	Faint narrow spray

16:40 UT S East	Nebulous ragged loop front with some
			trailing material, quite wide

2002/09/03

00:25 UT N East	Narrow loop front fades through C2

01:25 UT N East	Small bright blob along streamer appears
to catch, brighten and accelerate faint
slow-moving disconnection feature at ~4 Rs

02:05 UT W Limb	Ragged loop front disintegrates and fades
			through C2
