Event began in C2 at 03:54 UT as a faint asymmetric leading edge loop front over the East, centered approximately at PA 58 degrees, with material eventually seen from PA 343 - 190 for a total coverage of 207 degrees. The event continues into the C3 field beginning at 05:18 UT and measured through the field as the event ends and dissipates at approximately 10:18 UT to 9.5 Rsun. Time/height measurements were marked and calculated to velocities of this event averaging 350.4 Km/sec at position angle 69 degrees through C2 and C3. EIT had coverage during these times in a good range. There is no apparent signs of any disk activity which could possibly pertain to the event seen in LASCO. This event is determined a BACKSIDED HALO event. Limited LASCO images, movies and time/height information for this event is available on the web at: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/lasco/observations/halo/2010/100224 Best regards, Kevin Schenk SOHO Mission EIT and LASCO Operations NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center, USA BT
