SOHO/LASCO  HALO CME September 5, 2023 

C2 Start Time: 14:00 UT

C3 Start Time: 14:30UT

Type of CME:
Asymmetric HALO CME — BACKSIDE
pa1:  72     pa2:  175       Total Width:  257 degrees

Velocity Measurements:

C2:    4 points    958.1 km/sec @ PA 291.38
C3:   9 points   1489.1 km/sec @ PA 291.58
Average through both(C2/C3) fields:  1447.0 km/sec  Acceleration: 59.63 m/sec^2

COMMENT:  LASCO C2/C3 show a partial halo CME originating from the NW. The halo CME is farsided with the source seen as opening field lines beyond the NW limb.

STEREO Beacon Data COR2 A, shows a bright partial halo CME in the NW direction beginning at 14:23 UT.  Preliminary time/height measurements gives a velocity of 1449.2 km/sec @ PA 285.30 using 4 points of measurement.
