SOHO/LASCO Halo CME  20170906

COMMENTS: Asymmetric HALO CME resulting from a X9.3 class X-ray flare of
                          active region 12673 located [S09, W34] as seen in SDO AIA 193A.
                          LASCO velocity:  1428.9 km/sec at PA 227 degrees.  Acceleration: *****
                         SEP (Solar Energetic Particle) event.  Increased proton flux seen in the LASCO images.

SOHO/LASCO  HALO CME September 06, 2017 

C2 Start Time:      12:24 UT

C3 Start Time:        12:30 - 16:30 UT 

Type of CME:
Asymmetric HALO CME — FRONTSIDE
pa1:  227      pa2:  226       Total Width:  360 degrees

Velocity Measurements:

C2    3 points     1286.1 km/sec @ PA 227
C3    7 points     1474.7 km/sec @ PA 227 
Average through both fields:      1428.9 km/sec  Acceleration:  

COMMENT:       AIA 193 shows an impulsive flare of AR 12673 at location [S09, W34]
                            11:54-14:06 UT.  The event produces an EUV wave and a dimming
                            across the disk, followed by a post loop arcade.
           
                            LASCO shows increased proton flux in the field of view (SEP).

                            STEREO Beacon Data
                           COR2 A, 12:24 - 14:24 UT; shows an asymmetric HALO CME
                            Preliminary time/height measure gives 1382.1 km/sec @ 236 degrees.
                       
NOAA/GOES reports a X9.3 class X-ray flare of AR12673 11:53/12:02/12:10 UT.
NOAA/GOES shows an increase in proton particles with an increase in flux >100 MeV.
                         The flux > 10 MeV increases and remains in solar storm conditions.           
           
Preliminary UCMEO velocity and position measurements will be delivered first.
