SOHO/EIT was running
a high-cadence (14 minutes) campaign of full-field full-resolution
195 Å images on April 1, 1997. NOAA Active region #8026 had
been the site of flaring activity and an emerging flux region on
its east side.
GOES X-ray flux showing flares at around 5:05 UT and 13:48 UT.
At 5:01 UT and 14:00 UT EIT detected the initiation of what appeared
to be Moreton waves. The 14:00 UT wave was the strongest, accompanied
by a CME observed by LASCO C2. These waves were preceded by
